Eli Manning is a former quarterback for the American football team. He spent 16 seasons with the New York Giants in the National Football League (NFL).

He is the youngest son of the legendary quarterback Archie Manning and a member of the football dynasty known as the Mannings.

Additionally, he is Peyton Manning’s junior brother. Manning received the Maxwell and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Awards in his final season at Ole Miss, where he played college football.

The San Diego Chargers selected him first overall in the 2004 NFL Draft before trading him to the New York Giants.

He is the third child of NFL quarterback Elisha Archibald “Archie” Manning III and Olivia (née Williams), both natives of Mississippi. Peyton and Cooper, his older siblings, were football players as children.

Manning played football and basketball while attending Isidore Newman School in New Orleans for the Greenies.

In high school, Eli Manning passed for 7,389 yards and 89 touchdowns. He chose to play varsity football at the University of Mississippi on February 7, 1999.

Manning entered the university in the shadow of his brother Peyton, the quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts, and his father, an Ole Miss “folk hero.”

Manning had established or tied 45 single-game, season, and career records for the Rebels.

His career statistics include 10,119 passing yards, a passer rating of 137.0, and 81 touchdown passes, placing him third on the SEC career chart (tied for sixth).

In 2007, he proposed to Nashville, Tennessee native Abby McGrew. Manning and McGrew have dated since their days as the University of Mississippi undergraduates. New York is where McGrew attended fashion school.

On April 19, 2008, the couple wed in a private ceremony in San José del Cabo, Mexico. Four children were born to Manning and Abby: three daughters and a son.

Their headquarters are located in Summit, New Jersey. Eli and Peyton Manning volunteered in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

The Mannings contributed to the delivery of 14,000 kilograms (30,000 pounds) of supplies to the residents of New Orleans, including water, Gatorade, infant formula, pumice, and pillows.

In 2007, he launched a five-year fundraising campaign to raise $2.5 million to establish “The Eli Manning Children’s Clinics” at Blair E. Batson Hospital. This is for Children at the Medical Center of the University of Mississippi.

In 2007, Manning stated,

“I am humbled by their work and honored to make this five-year commitment to help raise funds for the construction of this innovative clinic that will serve Mississippi families for generations.”

His father, Archie Manning, has also contributed financially to the Katrina relief effort.
